Ultracet (tramadol/acetaminophen) is used to treat moderate to severe pain

Do not take Ultracet (tramadol/acetaminophen) if you are allergic to any ingredient in Ultracet (tramadol/acetaminophen) or to similar medications, if you have been drinking, or have taken any other narcotic drug, sleep aid, tranquilizer, or antidepressant;, if you have ever been dependent on other narcotic pain

Before using Ultracet (tramadol/acetaminophen), tell your health care provider about any of the following: if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding if you are taking any other prescription or nonprescription medicine if you have any other medical condition like heart disease, lung disease, impairment of kidney or liver functions.

Ultracet (tramadol/acetaminophen) may cause seizures, particularly in those with epilepsy, a history of seizures, or in those at special risk for seizures, such as people with head trauma, metabolic disorders, or central nervous system infections, and those going through alcohol or drug withdrawal. Ultracet (tramadol/acetaminophen) is known to cause fatal allergic reaction.

Other: Abdominal pain, anxiety, appetite loss, confusion, dizziness, dry mouth, exaggerated feeling of well-being, fatigue, gas, headache, hot flushes, indigestion, insomnia, itching, nausea, nervousness, prostate disorders, rash, tremor, vomiting, weakness

How much medicine you take and how often you take it depend on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of Ultracet (tramadol/acetaminophen) you are taking, talk with your health care provider. Do not stop taking Ultracet (tramadol/acetaminophen) without checking with your health care provider. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking Ultracet (tramadol/acetaminophen). Do not take more medicine than prescribed unless advised to do so by your health care provider. Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your health care provider. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your health care provider. If more than one dose is missed, contact your health care provider or pharmacist. Ultracet (tramadol/acetaminophen) poses a danger of mental and physical addiction. Never exceed the prescribed dosage. If you experience withdrawal symptoms--which can occur if you stop taking the drug abruptly--consult your doctor for a tapering regimen. Withdrawal symptoms include anxiety, chills, diarrhea, hallucinations, insomnia, nausea, pain, erection of hair, sweating, tremors, and upper respiratory symptoms. Take only the amount and number of doses prescribed. Exceeding the recommended dosage can lead to reduced breathing, liver damage, seizures, and death. Do not take Ultracet (tramadol/acetaminophen) if you will be driving a car or operating dangerous machinery. Ultracet may impair the mental and physical abilities needed for driving

Store Ultracet (tramadol/acetaminophen) at room temperature in a cool dry place, protect from heat and light. Keep all medicines out of the reach of children and pets.
