What is Zebeta (bisoprolol) used for? |
Zebeta (bisoprolol) reduces the workload of the heart and helps it to beat more regularly by blocking the effects of certain hormones.

Do not take Zebeta (bisoprolol) if you are allergic to any ingredient in Zebeta (bisoprolol) or to similar medications. |
What precautions should I follow when taking Zebeta (bisoprolol) ?

Before using Zebeta (bisoprolol), tell your health care provider about any of the following: if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding if you are taking any other prescription or nonprescription medicine if you have any other medical condition like heart disease, lung disease, impairment of kidney or liver functions. |
What special warning(s) should I be aware of when taking Zebeta (bisoprolol)?

Zebeta (bisoprolol) should be used with caution in people with heart failure. Zebeta (bisoprolol) may mask the symptoms of thyroid hyperactivity. |
What are the side effects of Zebeta (bisoprolol)?
|
|
Most severe: Breathing difficulty or wheezing, cold hands and feet, depression, shortness of breath, slow heartbeat (especially less than 50 beats per minute), swelling of ankles, feet, or lower legs, back or joint pain, chest pain, confusion, dizziness or lightheadedness when getting up from a lying or sitting position, fever and sore throat, hallucinations, irregular heartbeat, red, scaling, or crusted skin, skin rash, unusual bleeding and bruising, dark urine, yellow eyes or skin

Most common: Dizziness or lightheadedness, slight drowsiness, trouble sleeping, unusual tiredness or weakness, headache
|

Other: Decreased sexual ability, anxiety or nervousness, constipation, diarrhea, dry, sore eyes, dry mouth, itching of skin, nausea or vomiting, nightmares and vivid dreams, stomach discomfort, stuffy nose
|
How should I take Zebeta (bisoprolol)?
|
How much medicine you take and how often you take it depend on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of Zebeta (bisoprolol) you are taking, talk with your health care provider. Do not stop taking Zebeta (bisoprolol) without checking with your health care provider. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking Zebeta (bisoprolol). Do not take more medicine than prescribed unless advised to do so by your health care provider. Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your health care provider. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your health care provider. If more than one dose is missed, contact your health care provider or pharmacist.

Store Zebeta (bisoprolol) at room temperature in a cool dry place, protect from heat and light. Keep all medicines out of the reach of children and pets. |
