Foods that Fight Depression

Amino Acids - Amino acids are essential for the body to make neurotransmitters which send signals to the brain and affect your mood. Some amino acids make serotonin which is a feel good chemical.

Foods with Amino Acids: Turkey, cheese, fish, almonds, chicken, avocadoes, bananas and beans

Vitamin B6 & B12 - These vitamins also help the body make neurotransmitters. If the body does not receive enough vitamin B, serotonin levels will drop. Vitamin B12 helps make SAM-e. Some studies have shown that when levels of SAM-e drop, symptoms of depression become noticeable.

Foods with Vitamin B6: beef, tuna, bananas, turkey, chickpeas Foods with Vitamin B12: clams, oysters, chicken, crab, salmon, turkey, tuna, milk, eggs

Magnesium - those who suffer from depression usually have lower magnesium levels. Magnesium is crucial for the formation of serotonin and other neurotransmitters. Magnesium treatment may also help anxiety and insomnia problems associated with depression.

Foods with Magnesium: oat bran, halibut, spinach, barley, beans, and artichokes. Taking an Epsom salt bath will also increase magnesium levels.

Omega 3 - Omega 3 boosts oxygen levels in the blood increasing the body's ability to convert amino acids into neurotransmitters. Studies have found that those with a lack of Omega 3 acids have less of a capability to send feel-good chemicals like serotonin, dopamine and nor epinephrine to the brain.

Foods with Omega 3: salmon, sardines, tuna, flax seeds, and walnuts.

Why Should I Take Multivitamins?

Kudos to those who are devoted multivitamin consumers, and to those who are not – it might do you well to consider slotting them into your daily routine.

A multivitamin is a supplement intended to improve your diet via providing you with the essential vitamins and minerals needed by the body to stay healthy. They are not only needed and used by those with dietary imbalances or specific dietary needs, but by those who are appreciative of their overall well-being… and also the rest of us, who neglect the importance of eating natural food that takes longer than 5 microwave-minutes to prepare.

It has been reported that those who take multivitamins daily noticed a positive change in their overall health. Specific vitamins and minerals allow us to benefit in different ways. A balanced daily intake of vitamins and minerals ensures overall stability for your body. In our highly demanding lifestyles, there are many things that hinder our ability to relax and cause stress. Although almost all vitamins have the uncanny ability to combat stress, vitamin B12 is proven to be the most effective in reducing stress. Vitamin B12 helps your body produce serotonin, (a feel-good chemical) that travels directly to the brain.

Multivitamins usually contain a number of fundamental vitamins such as vitamin A, C, D, E, K and B12. These vitamins are the basis of good health and if our body were to have a major deficiency of any of them, the effects would be quickly recognized. Some multivitamins also contain minerals such as calcium, iron, zinc, and magnesium, which all do their part in ensuring optimum physical and mental vitality. Taking a daily multivitamin is a small contribution to the body that anyone can benefit from.

Watch Out!! – Some multivitamin formulas can contain "tag-along" ingredients picked up from the manufacturing plant that may not be the most favorable products to be taking regularly. Make sure to research and choose a reputable multivitamin like Centrum, VitaVim, Maltlevol (liquid), or One-A-Day (men’s or women’s), which were found to be free of extra ingredients. If you are pregnant, on prescription medicine, or just don't know what vitamins are best for your body, seek advice from your healthcare professional.

Prevent vitamin deficiency with Foltx

Foltx is a type of multivitamin, used as a supplement for diets treating or preventing vitamin deficiency. Vitamin deficiencies (lack of vitamins) can be caused by illness, pregnancy, poor nutrition, digestive disorders, and many other conditions.

Calcium may make it harder for your body to absorb certain ingredients of the multivitamin. Also avoid the regular use of salt substitutes in your diet if your multivitamin contains potassium. If you are on a low-salt diet, ask your doctor before taking a vitamin or mineral supplement. Do not use such medicine that have contain of Folic acid. Do not drive, operate machinery or do anything else that could be dangerous as Foltx may cause drowsiness. Vitamins, in small amounts, are necessary for proper growth and functioning of your body. They are organic substances that do not provide calories. Your body does not produce vitamins (except Vitamin D because it can be formed when your skin is exposed to the sun).

Eat a minimum of 5 servings of vegetables and fruits everyday for fiber, vitamin C and other antioxidant vitamins. Consume less cholesterol and saturated fats products. Control high blood pressure and diabetes, lose excess weight, and do daily exercises. Stop smoking.

Symptoms that indicate you are lacking certain vitamins:

Vitamin A Dry skin, dry eyes, and blindness in advanced case (Xerophthalmia Syndrome)

Vitamin D Weak and deformed bones (Osteomalacia Syndrome)
