What is Nytol used for?
This medicine is used to relieve occasional sleeplessness in adults and children over 12 years of age.
When should Nytol not be taken?
Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to any ingredient in this medicine you have a history of bronchitis, emphysema, or other breathing problems you have glaucoma you have difficulty urinating due to an enlarged prostate gland
What precautions should I follow when taking Nytol?
Before using this medicine, tell your health care provider about any of the following: if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding if you are taking any other prescription or nonprescription medicine if you have any other medical condition
What special warning(s) should I be aware of when taking Nytol?
Do not give this medicine to children under 12 years of age. If sleeplessness persists continuously for more than 2 weeks, consult your physician.
What are the side effects of Nytol?
Most severe: Dizziness, dryness of mouth, inability to concentrate, nausea, nervousness, muscular weakness and coordination.
Most common: Drowsiness.
Other: Palpitation, blurring of vision, headache, restlessness, insomnia and thickening of bronchial secretions, lassitude, excitement, double vision, difficulty in urination, constipation, nasal stuffiness, vomiting, drug rash, urticaria, hypotension, p
How should I take Nytol?
How much medicine you take and how often you take it depends on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of the medicine you are taking, talk with your health care provider. Take this medicine at bedtime or as directed by your health care provider. If sleeplessness persists for more than 2 weeks, contact your health care provider. Do not drink alcohol or take other medicines that cause drowsiness (eg, sedatives, tranquilizers) while taking this medicine without consulting your doctor. This medicine will cause drowsiness. Do not drive or perform other tasks requiring alertness, coordination, or physical dexterity after taking this medicine. Do not take over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your health care provider. Do not take more medicine than prescribed unless advised to do so by your health care provider. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking this medicine. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised to by your health care provider. If more than one dose is missed, contact your health care provider.
How should Nytol be stored?
Store at room temperature. Keep out of the reach of children.
