What is Auralgan used for?
This medicine is used by instilling into the ear canal to relieve pain and discomfort associated with infections of the middle ear. It is frequently used in combination with other medicines given by mouth to treat middle ear infections. It may also be used to remove a buildup of earwax.
When should Auralgan not be taken?
Do not use this medicine if you are allergic to any ingredient in this medicine or to similar medicines your eardrum is perforated you have a discharge or drainage from the ear
What precautions should I follow when taking Auralgan?
Before using this medicine, tell your health care provider about any of the following: if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breastfeeding if you are taking any other prescription or nonprescription medicine or dietary supplement if you have any other medical condition
What special warning(s) should I be aware of when taking Auralgan?
If your symptoms do not improve within a few days or if they become worse, check with your doctor
What are the side effects of Auralgan?
Most severe: Stinging, itching, or burning in the ear.
Most common: Stinging, burning, or redness of the ear canal.

How should I take Auralgan?
How much medicine you use and how often you use it depends on many factors, including the condition being treated, your age, and weight. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of the medicine you are using, talk with your health care provider. This medicine is for topical use in the ear canal only. Do not use in the eyes or nose. Do not take internally. Discontinue use and contact your doctor promptly if sensitization or irritation occurs after use. For middle ear infections, warm the solution to body temperature. Instill the medicine into the ear canal and permit solution to run along the wall of the canal until it is filled. To help the drops in running into the ear canal, hold the ear lobe up and back in adults and down and back in children. Moisten a cotton wick with the product and insert into the ear. Repeat every 1 to 2 hours until pain and congestion are relieved. Avoid touching the ear with dropper. For earwax removal, instill the medicine in the ear 3 times a day for 2 to 3 days. The medicine can also be used after the earwax is removed to relieve discomfort. Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medicines or dietary supplements without talking with your health care provider. Do not change the dose or stop taking this medicine without checking with your doctor. Patients with other medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking this medicine. Do not take more medicine than prescribed unless advised to do so by your doctor or health care provider. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your doctor. If more than one dose is missed, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
How should Auralgan be stored?
Store at controlled room temperature(between 59 and 86 degrees F). Protect from freezing.
