What is Abenol Suppository used for?

This medicine is used to temporarily relieve fever, headache, aches, and pains in children.

When should Abenol Suppository not be taken?

Do not give this medicine if the child is allergic to any ingredient in this medicine the child has had a fever for more than 3 days or pain more than 10 days unless directed by a doctor the suppository wrapper is opened or damaged

What precautions should I follow when taking Abenol Suppository?

Before using this medicine, tell your health care provider about any of the following: if the child is taking any other prescription or nonprescription medications if the child has any other medical condition

What special warning(s) should I be aware of when taking Abenol Suppository?

This medicine can be hepato-toxic and can cause severe liver damage

What are the side effects of Abenol Suppository?

Most severe:  Severe allergic reaction.

Most common:  Stomach upset, rash.

Other:  (rarely) bleeding tendency.

How should I take Abenol Suppository?

How much medicine you use and how often you use it depends on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of the medicine you are using, talk with your health care provider. Remove wrapper. Carefully place suppository well up into the rectum. Talk with your health care provider if fever or pain continues or gets worse, new symptoms occur, or redness or swelling is present in the painful area. These may be signs of a serious condition. Infants and children 3 months to 6 years of age - Do not give more than a total of 6 suppositories in any 24-hour period. Adults and children 6 to 12 years of age - Do not take more than 12 suppositories in any 24-hour period. In case of accidental eating of this medicine, seek professional help or contact a Poison Control Center at once. Do not give more medicine than recommended unless advised to do so by your doctor or health care provider. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your doctor. If more than one dose is missed, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

How should Abenol Suppository be stored?

Store between 35 to 80 degrees F. Keep out of the reach of children.
