What is Euflex/Flutamide used for?

This medication is used in combination with other medicine for the treatment of primary and metastatic cancer of the prostate gland.

Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to any ingredient in this medicine

What precautions should I follow when taking Euflex/Flutamide?

Before using this medicine, tell your health care provider about any of the following: if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding if you are taking any other prescription medicine, nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplement if you have impaired kidney or liver function, if you have heart or lung problem

What special warning(s) should I be aware of when taking Euflex/Flutamide?

This medicine is for use in male patients only . Effectiveness and safety of this medicine has not been tested in women and children.

What are the side effects of Euflex/Flutamide?

Most severe: Drowsiness, confusion, depression, anxiety, nervousness, insomnia, tiredness, headache, dizziness, weakness, malaise, blurred vision, decreased libido, thrombophlebitis, pulmonary embolism, myocardial infarction, gynecomastia, nausea, vomiti

Most common: Photosensitivity reactions including erythema, ulcerations, bullous eruptions, epidermal necrolysis, change in urine color to an amber or yellow-green, jaundice.

Other: Pruritus, ecchymosis, herpes zoster, thirst, lymphedema, lupus-like syndrome, hematuria, reduced sperm counts

How should I take Euflex/Flutamide?

How much medicine you take and how often you take it depends on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of the medicine you are taking, talk with your health care provider. This medication can be taken with or without food. Do not stop taking this medicine or change the dose without checking with your health care provider. This could have serious adverse effects. Use caution while driving or performing other tasks requiring alertness, coordination or physical dexterity. Avoid alcohol and other medicines that may cause drowsiness (such as benzodiazepines, baclofen) while you are taking this medicine. Inform your health care provider if you are taking an oral contraceptive. Your health care provider may have to adjust the dose of this medicine. Lab tests or exams may be required to monitor treatment. Be sure to keep appointments. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking this medication. Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your health care provider. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your health care provider. If more than one dose is missed, contact your health care provider or pharmacist.
