Do not use this medicine if you are allergic to any ingredient in this medicine or to similar medications, if you have irritated or inflamed skin

What precautions should I follow when taking Ciclopirox Olamine/Stieprox Shampoo?

Before using this medicine, tell your health care provider about any of the following: if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding if you are taking any other prescription or nonprescription medicine if you have any other medical condition like heart disease, lung disease, impairment of kidney or liver functions.

What special warning(s) should I be aware of when taking Ciclopirox Olamine/Stieprox Shampoo?

This shampoo is for use on the hair and scalp only; do not take by mouth or get this shampoo into your eyes

What are the side effects of Ciclopirox Olamine/Stieprox Shampoo?

Most severe: Severe allergic reaction (rash, itching, hives, tightness in chest, breathing difficulty)

Most common: Skin irritation, discolouration or yellowing of white or artificially coloured or blonded hair

Other: Worsening of condition

How should I take Ciclopirox Olamine/Stieprox Shampoo?

This shampoo is for use on the hair and scalp only; do not take by mouth or get this shampoo into your eyes. Follow the directions on the prescription label exactly. Wet hair and apply the amount prescribed to the scalp. Lather and leave on the hair and scalp for 3 minutes, then rinse. You will repeat the treatment twice per week (with 3 days between treatments) for 4 weeks. Use the shampoo for the full treatment time even though your symptoms may have improved. Notify your prescriber or health care professional if there is no improvement after 4 weeks. Do not use your medicine more often than directed. Do not use this medicine for any condition other than the one for which it was prescribed. Contact your pediatrician or health care professional regarding the use of this medicine in children. Special care may be needed.
