What is Zymar/Gatifloxacin used for?
This medicine is an eye antibiotic and is used to treat eye infections caused by certain bacteria.

Store at room temperature in a cool dry place, protect from heat and light. Keep all medicines out of the reach of children and pets.

When should Zymar/Gatifloxacin not be taken?
Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to any ingredient in this medicine or to similar medications.
What precautions should I follow when taking Zymar/Gatifloxacin?
Before using this medicine, tell your health care provider about any of the following: if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding if you are taking any other prescription or nonprescription medicine if you have any other medical condition like heart disease, lung disease, impairment of kidney or liver functions.
What special warning(s) should I be aware of when taking Zymar/Gatifloxacin?
This medicine is for eye use only. Take care to avoid contaminating the tip of the eye dropper.
What are the side effects of Zymar/Gatifloxacin?
Most severe: Blurred vision, dizziness, nausea, sensitivity to light, sneezing, sore throat, spots on the cornea, swelling of the cornea, other disorders of the area around the cornea
Most common: Decreased vision, dry eye, eye irritation, eye pain, swelling and redness of the eyelid, tearing or eye discharge
Other: Runny nose, unusual taste or aftertaste
How should I take Zymar/Gatifloxacin?
It is very important that this medication be taken exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Finish all of this medication, even if you start to feel better. If you stop taking this medication, contact your doctor immediately. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible and continue on with your regular schedule. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue on with your regular dosing schedule. Do not double doses. Do not share this medication with others.
