What is Sectral used for?
This medicine is used to treat high blood pressure, irregular heartbeats and in the long-term management of patients with angina pectoris due to ischemic heart disease. It may be used in combination with other medicines.

When should Sectral not be taken?
Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to any ingredient in this medicine you have experienced second or third-degree heart block you have experienced heart failure or any other heart problems
What precautions should I follow when taking Sectral?
Before using this medicine, tell your health care provider about any of the following: if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding if you are taking any other prescription or nonprescription medicine if you have any other medical condition like bronchospastic disease, diabetes, impaired renal or liver function.
What special warning(s) should I be aware of when taking Sectral?
Exercise special caution when administering this medicine to patients with a history of heart failure. In patients without a history of cardiac failure, continued depression of myocardium over a period of time can, in some cases, lead to cardiac failure.
What are the side effects of Sectral?
Most severe: Heart failure; severe allergic reaction, severe bradycardia and bronchospasm .
Most common: Dizziness; sleepiness; fatigue, headache; sleeplessness; constipation; diarrhea; indigestion; gas; nausea; breathing difficulty; frequent urination.
Other: Erectile dysfunction, lack of libido, blurred vision and nonspecific visual disturbances, itching eyes, conjunctivitis, weight gain, loss of appetite.
How should I take Sectral?
How much medicine you take and how often you take it depends on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of the medicine you are taking, talk with your health care provider. Severe high blood pressure can occur if certain nasal decongestants are taken with this medicine. This medicine may produce dizziness or drowsiness; patients should observe caution while driving or performing other tasks requiring alertness, coordination, or physical dexterity. Do not stop taking this medication without checking with your doctor. Do not take more medication than is prescribed unless advised to do so by your doctor or health care provider. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking this medication. Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your doctor. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your doctor. If more than one dose is missed, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
