Salagen (pilocarpine hcl)

Salagen is used to treat symptoms of dry mouth from salivary gland hypofunction caused by radiotherapy treatment for cancer of the head and neck. Patients with Sjogrens syndrome may also benefit from using Salagen.

Important information about Salagen

This medicine should be administered with caution to patients taking beta adrenergic antagonists because of the possibility of conduction disturbances.

It may take 12 weeks for this medication to work. Salagen should not be used in children. Salagen may cause blurred vision. These effects may be worse if you take it with alcohol or certain medicines. Use with caution. Do not drive or perform other potentially unsafe tasks until you know how you react to it.
