What is Urecholine taken for?

Urecholine, available online from our Canadian pharmacy, is prescribed to help treat urinary retention. It works by stimulating the bladder to contract, which improves urine flow.

Urinary retention is the inability to urinate. Signs and symptoms include poor urinary stream with intermittance, straining, a sense of incomplete voiding and urgency. This condition may lead to incontinence, nocturia (a need to urinate at night) and high frequency. Because the bladder may stretch to an abnormal size and possibly tear if not dealt with right away, urinary retention should be considered a medical emergency.

What important information do I need to know about Urecholine?

Dizziness, lightheadedness, or fainting may occur, especially when rising from a seated or lying position. You should use caution while driving or performing other tasks requiring alertness, coordination, or physical dexterity.

It is not known what affects Urecholine may have on a baby or unborn fetus. Before taking this medication tell your doctor if you are pregnant, thinking about becoming pregnant, or nursing.

Urecholine should be taken on an empty stomach, either 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal. If taken soon after eating, nausea and vomiting may occur.
