Drug Description:

This medicine is used in the treatment of certain forms of breast cancer, lung cancer, and prostate cancerUnopened vials may be stored under refrigeration or at room temperature, 2C to 25C (36F to 77F). Store in their original package to protect from bright light. Keep all medicines out of the reach of children and pets.How much medicine you take and how often you take it depend on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of the medicine you are taking, talk with your health care provider. Do not stop taking this medicine without checking with your health care provider. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking this medicine. Do not take more medicine than prescribed unless advised to do so by your health care provider. Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your health care provider. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your health care provider. If more than one dose is missed, contact your health care provider or pharmacist. This medicine is supplied in a clear glass vial with a red flip-off cap for the 80-mg vial and a green cap for the 20-mg vial. Diluent is supplied in a clear glass vial with a transparent colorless flip-off cap. Both items are provided in a blister pack in a single carton. It is not necessary to store this medicine under refrigeration; however, if this medicine is stored in the refrigerator, the vials should stand at room temperature for at least 5 minutes before preparation. Each vial is a single-dose vial. Do not use for multiple doses. Mix initial diluted solution for at least 45 seconds. Let initial diluted solution stand for 5 minutes at room temperature. The initial diluted solution may be used immediately or stored either in the refrigerator or at room temperature for a maximum of 8 hours. Inject the initial diluted solution into 0.9% sodium chloride or 5% dextrose solution. Discard any unused solution. Use infusion solution within 4 hours.Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to any ingredient in this medicine or to similar medications.Before using this medicine, tell your health care provider about any of the following: if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding if you are taking any other prescription or nonprescription medicine if you have any other medical condition like heart disease, lung disease, impairment of kidney or liver functions.This medicine should only be administered under the supervision of a qualified healthcare provider experienced in the use of cancer chemotherapeutic agents. Skin accidentally exposed to this medicine should be rinsed thoroughly with soap and warm water.Most severe: An allergic reaction (including difficulty breathing; closing of the throat; swelling of the lips, tongue, or face; or hives); decreased bone marrow function and blood problems (extreme fatigue; easy bruising or bleeding; or fever, chills, or signs of infection), tissue or vein reactions near the site of administration, liver damage (abdominal pain, yellowing of the skin or eyes), severe nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or loss of appetite, swelling of the feet, ankles or abdomen, difficulty breathing, skin redness or peeling, fever, chills, or other signs of infection; or nerve problems such as burning, pricking or tingling.Most common: Feelings of tiredness or weakness, mouth sores, mild to moderate nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or loss of appetite, temporary hair loss; or fingernail or toenail disorders.Other: Mouth sores, muscle and joint pain, fever (low grade).
