Description

Drug Description:

This medicine is used to treat certain kinds of chest pains in adults such as angina pectoris and chronic stable angina. This medicine is also used to treat high blood pressure, loss of circulation in the fingers and toes (Raynaud’s phenomenon), for involuntary movements (tardive dyskinesia), and to prevent heart attack.Store at room temperature 59 to 86 degrees F. Do not freeze.How much medicine you take and how often you take it depends on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of the medicine you are taking, talk with your health care provider. The usual dose is 1 tablet three to four times daily, before meals and at bedtime. Spread throughout the day. Take at the same time each day. Do not change the dose unless advised to do so by your doctor. Do not stop taking this medicine suddenly. If therapy is discontinued, it should be tapered gradually. Do not take more medicine than prescribed unless advised to do so by your health care provider. Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your doctor. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your doctor. If more than one dose is missed, contact your doctor or pharmacist. Contact your doctor if irregular heartbeat, swelling of hands or feet, severe dizziness, constipation, nausea, low blood pressure, abnormal bruising or bleeding, itching, rash, hives or difficulty breathing occurs.Do not take this medication if you are allergic to any ingredient of this medicine you have sick sinus syndrome you have serious heart disease or heart rhythm problems you have low blood pressureBefore using this medicine, tell your health care provider about any of the following: if you are pregnant, plan on becoming pregnant, or breastfeeding if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine if you have any other medical conditionsUse this medicine with caution if your heart beat becomes slow or if you have congestive heart failure or kidney disease.Most severe:  Liver damage; heart problems, including heart failure.Most common:  Headache; nausea; dizziness; rash; weakness.Other:  Sensitivity to sunlight, abnormal dreams, allergic reaction, altered way of walking, amnesia, anemia, angina (severe chest pain), blood disorders, congestive heart failure, constipation, cough, depression, diarrhea, difficulty sleeping, drowsiness, dry mouth, excessive urination at night, eye irritation, fainting, flu symptoms, hair loss, hallucinations, heart attack, high blood sugar, hives, impotence, increased output of pale urine, indigestion, infection, irregular heartbeat, itching, joint pain, labored breathing, loss of appetite, low blood pressure, low blood sugar, muscle cramps, nasal congestion or inflammation, nervousness, nosebleed, pain, personality change, pounding heartbeat, rapid heartbeat, reddish or purplish spots on skin, ringing in ears, sexual difficulties, skin inflammation/flaking or peeling, sensitivity to light, sleepiness, sore throat, taste alteration, thirst, tingling or pins and needles, tremor, vision changes, vomiting, welts, weight increase.
