Description

Indications

Fesoterodine is prescribed for the treatment of specific bladder issues such as overactive bladder and neurogenic detrusor overactivity. Symptoms of these conditions may involve frequent urination, strong and sudden urges to urinate that are difficult to control, or involuntary loss of urine.

By easing the muscles in the bladder, fesoterodine enhances your ability to manage urination. It aids in the reduction of urine leakage, the feeling of immediate need to urinate, and frequent visits to the restroom. This medication is categorized as an antispasmodic drug.

Uses and Dosage

Fesoterodine is an extended-release tablet that is consumed orally, with or without food, once a day. Take the medication at the same time each day and follow the instructions on your prescription label carefully. Take the medicine exactly as instructed, neither more nor less often than prescribed by your doctor.

Swallow the whole tablets with a generous amount of liquid, without crushing, splitting, or chewing them.

If your symptoms are not under control, your doctor may begin you on a low dosage of fesoterodine and gradually increase it. Discuss with your doctor how fesoterodine is functioning for you.

Your symptoms should begin to improve within the first few weeks of fesoterodine therapy. However, it may take up to 12 weeks to experience the full benefits of the medication. If your symptoms do not improve after using fesoterodine for a few weeks, notify your doctor.

While fesoterodine may help alleviate your symptoms, it will not cure your condition. Continue taking the medication even if you feel better. Do not stop taking fesoterodine without consulting your doctor, as discontinuing the medication may cause your symptoms to reappear.
