Drug Description:

This medication is used to treat mild to moderate impairment of memory, judgment, and abstract thinking as well as changes in personality caused by Alzheimer’s disease.Store at controlled room temperature (between 59 and 86 degrees F).How much medicine you take and how often it is taken depends on many factors, including the condition being treated, your age, and weight. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of the medicine you are taking, talk with your health care provider. Take this medicine with food in the morning and evening. This medicine may cause dizziness or drowsiness. Use caution while driving or performing other tasks requiring alertness, coordination, or physical dexterity. Do not take any over-the-counter or prescription medications or dietary supplements without talking with your health care provider. Patients with other medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking this medicine. Do not take more medicine than prescribed unless advised to do so by your health care provider. If treatment has been stopped for several days or longer, contact your health care provider.Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to any ingredient in this medicineBefore using this medicine, tell your health care provider about any of the following: if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding if you are taking any other prescription or nonprescription medicine or dietary supplements if you have a history of severe asthma or lung disease if you have a history of heart disease if you have a history of ulcers if you are taking NSAIDs (eg, ibuprofen) if you have a history of seizures if you have impaired liver or kidney function if you have any other medical conditionThis medicine can slow the heart rate and cause fainting episodes. Be especially cautious if you have heart irregularity, asthma or congestive heart failure..Most severe:  Changes in heart rate or heart rhythm; blood in the stool; severe stomach pain; fainting; blood in urine.Most common:  Nausea; vomiting; diarrhea; loss of appetite; weight loss; dizziness; fatigue; headache; tremor; stomach pain; indigestion; depression; sleeplessness; drowsiness; runny nose; chills; urinary infection.Other:  Infrequent urination; unusual tiredness; constipation; agitation; confusion; anxiety; back pain; swelling of the arms and legs; weakness; loss of bladder control; upper respiratory tract infection; bronchitis; cough; red or purple spots under the skin.
