Drug Description:

This medicine is applied topically to produce temporary numbness of irritated or inflamed mucous membranes of the mouth and throat. It is also used to reduce gagging during x-ray pictures and dental impressions.Store between 59 and 86 degrees F. Keep out of reach of children.How much medicine you take and how often you take it depends on many factors, including the condition being treated, your age, and weight. If you have any questions about the amount andperor frequency of the medicine you are taking, talk with your health care provider. Shake well before using. For numbing the mouth, swish the solution around in your mouth and then spit it out. For numbing the throat, gargle with the solution and then swallow. Wait at least 3 hours before using this medicine again. This medicine may cause impair swallowing and cause choking. Do not eat food or drink fluids for 1 hour after the use of this medicine. This is especially important when this medicine is given to children. This medicine may also numb the tongue and inside of the cheek. Be especially careful not to bite those areas. Do not eat or chew gum until the numbness wears off. Talk with your doctor before using this medicine in children. Patients with other medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking this medicine. Do not take more medicine than prescribed unless advised to do so by your doctor or health care provider. Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medications or dietary supplements without talking with your health care provider.Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to any ingredient in this medicine or to similar medications (eg, certain local anesthetics)Before using this medicine, tell your health care provider about any of the following: if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine or dietary supplements if there is trauma to the area (injury, surgery) if you are have severe shock if you have heart block if you allergic to any type of medicine if you have any other medical conditionThis medicine is for external use only. Avoid contact with the eyes. If condition worsens, or if symptoms persist for more than 7 days, or clear up and occur again within a few days, discontinue use of this product and consult a doctor. Do not use in large quantities, particularly over raw surfaces or blistered areas. Keep this and all drugs out of the reach of children.
