Cortate Cream Product Description

This medicine is used to temporarily relieve itching associated with minor skin irritations, inflammation, and rashes. Doctors may occasionally prescribe it for other reasons. It should not be used to treat diaper rash.Store at controlled room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F. Do not refrigerate or freeze. Keep tube closed tightly.How much medicine you take and how often you take it depends on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of the medicine you are taking, talk with your health care provider. This medicine is for external use only. Avoid contact with the eyes. Avoid prolonged use, especially near the eyes, face, on genital or rectal areas, and in skin folds. Apply to the affected area as directed by your health care provider. Wash or soak the affected area before using this medicine. This will increase medicine penetration. If condition worsens, or if symptoms persist for more than 7 days or if symptoms recur, stop using this medicine and contact your doctor. If bleeding occurs, contact your doctor at once. Do not put this product into the rectum using fingers or any mechanical device or applicator. Do not use in children under 12 years of age without consulting your doctor. Skin infections may worsen. It may be necessary to stop using this medicine and treat the infection. Skin wasting may occur after 3 to 4 weeks of regular use. Allergic reaction may occur. If the condition worsens or if irritation, burning, redness, swelling, or stinging persists, do not reapply. Contact your doctor. Lab tests may be required to monitor therapy. Be sure to keep appointments. Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your health care provider. Do not take more medicine than prescribed unless advised to do so by your health care provider. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking this medicine. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised to by your health care provider.
