Uses and Dosage
Administer this medication orally, with or without food, in accordance with your doctor’s guidance, typically three times a day (with intervals of at least 3 to 4 hours between doses). Adhere closely to your doctor’s instructions.
This medication is intended for daytime consumption when individuals are frequently in an upright position. Avoid taking this medicine after your evening meal or less than 4 hours prior to bedtime. If you plan to recline for an extended period, such as taking a nap, it is not advisable to take your dose.
The prescribed dosage is contingent on your medical condition and response to treatment. Normally, your doctor will initiate treatment with a low dose, progressively increasing it to mitigate potential side effects. Refrain from elevating your dose or taking it more frequently than directed.

This medication could occasionally induce dizziness, drowsiness, or blurred vision. Alcohol or marijuana may intensify these effects. Until you can perform these tasks safely, refrain from activities requiring alertness or clear vision, such as driving or operating machinery.
Notify your doctor if you are pregnant or intend to become pregnant. While using midodrine, pregnancy should be avoided, as it could potentially harm an unborn baby. If you suspect you are pregnant or become pregnant, engage with your doctor to discuss the associated risks and benefits of this medication.
The extent to which this medication passes into breast milk is unknown. Prior to breastfeeding, seek advice from your doctor.

How long does Proamatine take to work?
Taking one 10 mg tablet of Proamatine while standing can raise the systolic blood pressure by about 15 mmHg to 30 mmHg after an hour. The blood-pressure-raising effects of the medication can sometimes last for up to 2 to 3 hours.
Does Proamatine cause weight gain?
Weight gain isn’t a known side effect of Proamatine.
