Drug Description:

This medicine is used to lower the level of cholesterol in the blood in patients who do not respond adequately to diet. It may also be used to relieve itching associated with partial block of bile ducts. Doctors may occasionally prescribe it for other reasons.Store at room temperature in a cool, dry place. Protect from direct heat and light. Keep all medicines out of the reach of children..How much medicine you take and how often you take it depends on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of the medicine you are taking, talk with your health care provider. Drink plenty of fluids while taking this medicine. Do not take this medicine in its dry form. Always mix the suspension. Take this medicine during mealtime unless it will interfere with other scheduled medications. Take other medicines at least 1 hour before or 4 to 6 hours after taking this medicine. Lab tests will be required to monitor therapy. Be sure to keep appointments. Do not take more medicine than prescribed unless advised to do so by your doctor or health care provider. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking this medicine. Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medicines without talking with your doctor. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your doctor.
