Drug Description:

This medicine is used to relieve anxiety and to manage itching associated with allergic conditions. It is also used as a sedative before and after surgery.Store below 86 degrees F. Protect from freezing. Protect from light.How much medicine you take and how often you take it depends on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of the medicine you are taking, talk with your health care provider. This medicine may cause drowsiness. Use caution while driving or performing other tasks requiring alertness, coordination, or physical dexterity. Avoid alcohol and other medicines (eg, sedatives, tranquilizers) that cause drowsiness while you are taking this medicine. Lab tests may be required to monitor therapy. Be sure to keep appointments. Do not stop taking this medicine without checking with your doctor. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking this medicine. Do not take more medicine than prescribed unless advised to do so by your doctor or health care provider. Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your doctor. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your doctor. This medicine is useful for treating allergic conditions, especially those that involve the skin, such as hives, itching, and rashes.

Contra Indication:

Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to any component present in this medicine.

Severe Side Effects:

Most severe: An allergic reaction (difficulty breathing; closing of your throat; swelling of your lips, tongue, or face; or hives), worsening colitis (fever, abdominal pain, cramping, or bloody diarrhea); or chest pain or shortness of breath.

Common Side Effects:

Most common: Dizziness, drowsiness, sleepiness, or confusion, blurred vision or a dry mouth; or nausea or vomiting.

Other Side Effects:

Dry mouth, twitches, tremors, and convulsions.
