Drug Description:

This medicine is used to treat infections caused by certain bacteria.Store at room temperature in a cool dry place, protect from heat and light. Keep all medicines out of the reach of children and pets.How much medicine you take and how often you take it depend on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of the medicine you are taking, talk with your health care provider. Do not stop taking this medicine without checking with your health care provider. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking this medicine. Do not take more medicine than prescribed unless advised to do so by your health care provider. Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your health care provider. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your health care provider. If more than one dose is missed, contact your health care provider or pharmacist. taken two hours before or six hours after taking these products. This medicine should not be taken with dairy products (such as milk or yogurt) or calcium-fortified juices alone; however, ciprofloxacin may be taken with a meal that contains these products. Take your doses at regular intervals. Do not take your medicine more often than directed. Finish the full course prescribed by your prescriber or health care professional even if you think your condition is better. Do not stop taking except on your prescriber’s advice.Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to any ingredient in this medicine or to similar medications.Before using this medicine, tell your health care provider about any of the following: if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine if you are taking blood thinners if you have stomach problems if you have peptic ulcers if you have any other medical condition like liver or kidney function impairment or heart problemMake sure you stay well hydrated while taking ciprofloxacin. Do not use sun lamps or sun tanning beds or booths. You may get drowsy or dizzy. Do not drive, use machinery, or do anything that needs mental alertness until you know how ciprofloxacin affects you. To reduce the risk of dizzy or fainting spells, do not sit or stand up quickly, especially if you are an older patient.Most severe:  Difficulty breathing, fever, hallucinations, increased sensitivity to the sun or ultraviolet light, irregular heartbeat, palpitations or chest pain, joint, muscle or tendon pain, nervousness, excitability, restlessness, reduced amount of urine, severe or watery diarrhea, skin rash, itching, seizures (convulsions), swelling of the face or neck, unusual pain, numbness, tingling, or weakness, vomitingMost common: Diarrhea, difficulty sleeping, dizziness, drowsiness, headache, nausea, stomach upsetOther: Confusion, tremors, depression, difficulty breathing, hallucinations, hives, increased sensitivity of skin to sunlight, muscle, tendon and joint pain, symptoms of severe allergic reaction
