Description

Indications

Eflornithine is employed to inhibit the growth of undesired facial hair in women, typically in areas such as the upper lip or beneath the chin. Its mechanism of action involves obstructing a naturally occurring substance necessary for hair growth, which is situated within the hair follicle – the pouch where each individual hair develops.

Uses and Dosage

Apply a thin layer of this medication solely to the affected areas of the face and chin following your doctor’s instructions, typically twice daily with an interval of at least 8 hours. Thoroughly massage the medication into the skin. Refrain from applying it within 5 minutes after any hair removal procedures like plucking or shaving. Avoid washing the treated area for at least 4 hours.

Remember to wash your hands immediately after using this product. It should be applied exclusively to the skin and must not come into contact with your eyes, nose, or mouth. If the medication accidentally enters these areas, rinse them promptly with clean water. In case it gets into your eyes, rinse them thoroughly with water and contact your doctor.

Wait until the medication has completely dried before applying cosmetics, moisturizers, or sunscreens over the treated regions.

Please note that this product does not remove hair. While using this medication, continue employing your regular hair removal methods, such as shaving or plucking. Discontinuing the use of this product will result in the return of hair growth.

You should observe some improvement within 4 to 8 weeks, as this medication works gradually. Adhere strictly to the provided instructions. Do not exceed the recommended amount or frequency of use. Doing so will not accelerate the improvement of your condition and may increase the risk of side effects.

If your skin becomes red or irritated, inform your doctor. They may adjust your treatment to once a day or discontinue it if necessary.

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention:

Inform your healthcare provider immediately if you experience any serious side effects:

  • severe irritation of the skin
