Description

Indications

Tadalafil, sold under the brand name Cialis, is a medication used for the treatment of erectile dysfunction (ED) and symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in adult men.

Tadalafil works by increasing blood flow to the penis during sexual stimulation, which can lead to an erection. The medication is also used to improve exercise ability in individuals with pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) by relaxing the blood vessels in the lungs to allow for better blood flow.

This drug is classified as a phosphodiesterase (PDE) inhibitor and operates by improving the flow of blood in the affected areas.

Uses and Dosage

Tadalafil is available in tablet form for oral administration. It can be consumed with or without food. The method and frequency of consumption will vary based on the medical condition being treated.

For treatment of erectile dysfunction, tadalafil can be taken on a daily basis or as needed. Consult your physician to determine the appropriate dosing schedule for you. Tadalafil can be taken on an as-needed basis, at least 30 minutes prior to sexual activity and not more frequently than once every 24 hours. Your physician will advise you on the optimal time to take Tadalafil before sexual activity.

In case of daily consumption, tadalafil can be taken at any time, with sexual activity being optional. If taken on a regular schedule, tadalafil should be taken at approximately the same time every day. The physician may prescribe a lower dose to be taken once a day or recommend taking tadalafil less frequently, based on your health condition or other medications being consumed.

For treatment of Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH) or benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), tadalafil should be taken once daily. Consume all daily doses at the same time each day and do not divide the tablets into separate doses. Tadalafil should be taken at approximately the same time every day. If you are already taking medication for BPH, your physician may advise you to discontinue the other medication one day prior to starting treatment with tadalafil. Adhere to your physician’s instructions and seek clarification from your physician or pharmacist for any unclear instructions.

In case of erectile dysfunction, the physician may start with a standard dose of tadalafil and adjust the dose based on your response to the medication. If tadalafil is not providing desired results or causing side effects, inform your physician.
