Description

Indications

Ciprofloxacin and hydrocortisone otic is employed for the treatment of outer ear infections in both adults and children.

Ciprofloxacin belongs to the class of medications known as quinolone antibiotics, while hydrocortisone is classified as a corticosteroid. The synergistic action of ciprofloxacin and hydrocortisone involves the elimination of bacteria responsible for the infection and the alleviation of swelling in the ear.

Uses and Dosage

Ciprofloxacin and hydrocortisone otic is provided in liquid form and is intended for application directly into the ear.

Typically, it is administered twice a day—morning and evening—for a duration of 7 days. It’s crucial to adhere to a consistent schedule, taking the medication at approximately the same times daily.

Use ciprofloxacin and hydrocortisone otic precisely as directed, avoiding deviations in dosage or frequency without your doctor’s approval.

This medication is specifically designed for ear use and should not be applied to the eyes.

Improvement in your condition is expected within the initial days of ciprofloxacin and hydrocortisone otic treatment. If, after a week, your symptoms persist or worsen, contact your doctor.

Continue using ciprofloxacin and hydrocortisone otic until the prescribed course is completed, even if you start feeling better. Abruptly discontinuing the medication or skipping doses might result in an incomplete treatment of the infection, potentially leading to antibiotic resistance in the bacteria.

To use the eardrops, follow these steps:

  1. Hold the bottle in your hand for 1 or 2 minutes to warm the solution.
  2. Shake the bottle well.
  3. Lie down with the affected ear upward.
  4. Place the prescribed number of drops into your ear.
  5. Be careful not to touch the tip to your ear, fingers, or any other surface.
  6. Remain lying down with the affected ear upward for 30-60 seconds.
  7. Repeat steps 1-6 for the opposite ear if necessary.
