Description

Indications

Hydrochlorothiazide and quinapril are utilized in the management of hypertension, with the objective of reducing the incidence of strokes, heart attacks, and renal complications. Quinapril belongs to the class of angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors, which acts by inducing relaxation of blood vessels, promoting improved blood flow. Hydrochlorothiazide, on the other hand, is classified as a diuretic, commonly referred to as a “water pill.” It functions by increasing the volume of urine produced by the body, thereby facilitating the elimination of excess water and salt.

Uses and Dosage

Administer this medication orally as instructed by your physician, with or without food, usually once daily in the morning. Taking this drug too close to bedtime may necessitate waking up to urinate. It should be at least 4 hours before retiring to bed.

The appropriate dose will depend on your medical condition and response to therapy. To derive the maximum benefits, take this medication consistently at the same time each day.

Continue taking this medication even if you feel fine since most individuals with hypertension do not experience symptoms. It may take several weeks before experiencing the full therapeutic effects of this product.

Magnesium is an ingredient in this product that may interfere with the absorption of certain medications. Consult your pharmacist for additional information.

If you are also taking specific medications to reduce your cholesterol levels, such as bile acid-binding resins like cholestyramine or colestipol, take this product either 4 hours before or 4 to 6 hours after taking these medications.

Inform your physician if your condition fails to improve or worsens, indicated by persistently high or increasing blood pressure readings.
