Drug Description:

This medicine is a laxative used to clean out the bowel before surgery or other procedures. It may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor.Store in the refrigerator in a tightly closed container after opening. Use withing 48 hours of opening. Keep out of reach of children and petsHow much medicine you take and how often you take it depends on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of the medicine you are taking, talk with your health care provider. Do not take more medication than prescribed unless advised to do so by your health care provider. Some medicines or medical conditions may interact with this medicine. Inform your health care provider of all prescription and over-the-counter medicine that you are taking. Inform your doctor of any other medical conditions including throat (esophagus) disease, heart disease (e.g., abnormal heart rhythms, congestive heart failure), swallowing problems (e.g., history of aspiration), electrolyte imbalances (e.g., hyperkalemia), history of alcohol use, allergies, pregnancy, or breast-feeding. Use of this medicine is not recommended if you have appendicitis or a history of bowel obstruction. The first bowel movement usually occurs about 1 hour after you begin drinking the medicine. Drink only clear liquids from the time you start this medicine until your procedure is complete. Do not eat any solid food for at least 2 hours before you begin drinking this medicine. Also, do not eat solid food until after your surgery or procedure is complete. Contact your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions or concerns about using this medicine. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking this medication. Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your health care provider. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your health care provider. If more than one dose is missed, contact your health care provider or pharmacist.Do not use this medicine if you are allergic to any ingredient in this medicine.Before using this medicine, tell your health care provider about any of the following: if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding if you are taking any other prescription or nonprescription medicine if you have any other medical condition like heart disease, lung disease, impairment of kidney or liver functions.Do not share this medicine with others for whom it was not prescribed.
