Drug Description:

This medicine is used to treat severe muscle spasms due to a variety of causes like spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis, spasticity following hypoxic encephalopathy, head injury, or stroke; .Store below 86 degrees F. Do not refrigerate, freeze, or heat sterilize.How much medicine you are given and how often it is given depends on many factors, including the condition being treated, your age, and weight. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of the medicine you are given, talk with your health care provider. Carefully read the information provided with this medicine. This medicine will only be given by a qualified health care provider in a medical setting. All patients who receive this medicine are at risk for withdrawal. Early withdrawal symptoms include muscle spasms, itching, and abnormal skin sensations. Advanced withdrawal symptoms include rigid muscles; fast heartbeat; rapid breathing; bluish skin discoloration; irregular heartbeat, excessively high blood pressure associated with spinal cord injury, increased body heat; muscle rigidness; altered mental abilities, including lack of response to your surroundings; irregular pulse and blood pressure; increased heart rate; sweating; irregular heart rhythm. Contact your health care provider at once if any of these side effects occur. This medicine may cause dizziness or drowsiness. Use caution while driving or performing tasks requiring alertness, coordination, or physical dexterity. Avoid drinking alcohol and taking other medicines that cause drowsiness (eg, sedatives, tranquilizers) while using this medicine. Lab tests may be required to monitor therapy. Be sure to keep appointments. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before using this medicine. Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medicines without talking with your doctor. This includes any herbal preparations or dietary supplements.Do not use this medicine if you are allergic to any ingredient in this medicineBefore using this medicine, tell your health care provider about any of the following: if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding if you are taking any other prescription medicine, nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplement if you have an infection if you have a history of bizarre behavior if you have a history of excessively high blood pressure associated with spinal cord injury if you have kidney problems if you have any other medical conditionDo not stop using this medicine suddenly.
