Uses and Dosage
Ciclopirox is available as a solution intended for application to the nails and the surrounding skin, including the area underneath the nails. The typical frequency of application is once a day. To ensure consistent usage, apply ciclopirox around the same time daily, preferably at bedtime.
Utilize ciclopirox strictly as directed, avoiding excessive or insufficient usage beyond the prescribed regimen.
Ciclopirox is intended to ameliorate nail conditions related to fungal infections; however, it may not completely eradicate the nail fungus. Visible improvements in the nail condition may take up to six months or more to manifest. For optimal results, continue using ciclopirox daily according to the given instructions and refrain from discontinuing its use without consulting a doctor.
During the treatment period, maintaining regular nail trimming is crucial for the efficacy of ciclopirox topical solution. Before commencing treatment and every week thereafter, eliminate any loose nail or nail material using a nail clipper or file. The doctor will demonstrate the proper technique for this process.
When applying ciclopirox topical solution, exercise caution to limit its application solely to the nails and the skin surrounding and under them. Avoid contact with other skin areas and refrain from applying the solution near sensitive regions like the eyes, nose, mouth, or vagina.

After applying ciclopirox topical solution, abstain from bathing, showering, or swimming for at least 8 hours to allow the medication to take effect properly.
Exercise caution with ciclopirox topical solution, as it may be flammable. Avoid using this medication in close proximity to heat sources or open flames, such as cigarettes.
Side Effects
Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention:

- irritation, itching, burning, blistering, swelling, or oozing at the place where you applied ciclopirox
- pain at the affected nail(s) or surrounding area
- discoloration or change in shape of nail(s)
- ingrown nail(s)
