Description

Indications

Metronidazole is indicated for the treatment of vaginal infections, including bacterial vaginosis, which arises due to an overabundance of specific bacteria in the vaginal region. Categorized as a nitroimidazole antimicrobial, metronidazole functions by inhibiting bacterial growth, thereby effectively addressing the underlying infection.

Uses and Dosage

This product is intended solely for vaginal use and should be administered in accordance with your doctor’s instructions, typically once or twice daily. If prescribed for once-daily use, it is advised to apply the medication at bedtime. Prior to and after usage, ensure proper hand hygiene.

To apply the medication, fill the applicator with the prescribed amount and gently insert it deeply into the vagina. Press the plunger to release the medication as directed.

Take caution to avoid contact with the eyes. In case of accidental eye exposure, promptly rinse with cool water and seek medical attention if eye irritation persists.

Complete the entire prescribed course of treatment, even if symptoms improve within a few days. Prematurely discontinuing the medication may lead to bacterial persistence and the potential recurrence of the infection.

Inform your doctor if your condition does not show improvement after several days or if it worsens during the course of treatment.
