Description

Drug Description:

This medicine is used to relieve symptoms of vaginal irritation and dryness and urinary tract irritation due to lack of estrogen during menopause.Store at room temperature in a cool dry place, protect from heat and light. Keep all medicines out of the reach of children and pets.How much medicine you take and how often you take it depend on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of the medicine you are taking, talk with your health care provider. Do not stop taking this medicine without checking with your health care provider. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking this medicine. Do not take more medicine than prescribed unless advised to do so by your health care provider. Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your health care provider. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your health care provider. If more than one dose is missed, contact your health care provider or pharmacist. You should have a complete check-up every 6 months. You will also need a regular breast and pelvic exam and “”Pap”” smear while on estrogens therapy. You should also discuss the need for regular mammograms with your health care professional, and follow his or her guidelines for these tests. If you have any unusual bleeding contact your prescriber or health care professional for advice. Estrogens can make your body retain fluid, making your fingers, hands, or ankles swell. Your blood pressure can go up. Contact your prescriber or health care professional if you feel you are retaining fluid.Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to any ingredient in this medicine or to similar medications.Before using this medicine, tell your health care provider about any of the following: if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding if you are taking any other prescription or nonprescription medicine if you have any other medical condition like heart disease, lung disease, impairment of kidney or liver functions.Do not smoke while using this medicine as smoking can increase the risk of clot formation while using this medicineMost severe: Breakthrough bleeding and spotting, breast enlargement, tenderness, unusual discharge or milk production, chest pain, leg, arm or groin pain, nausea, vomiting, severe headaches, stomach pain (severe), sudden shortness of breath, swelling of the hands, feet or ankles, or rapid weight gain, vision or speech problems, yellowing of the eyes or skinMost common: Mild irritation at the site(s) of cream application, change in sexual desire, mild stomach upset, mood changes, anxiety, depression, frustration, anger, or emotional outbursts, increased or decreased appetite, skin rash, acne, or brown spots on the face, tiredness, vaginal itching, vaginal yeast infection (irritation and itching with a white discharge), weight gainOther: None
