Description
Indications
Trilostane is a prescribed medication utilized in the management of hyperadrenocorticism, also known as Cushing’s Disease, in dogs and cats. Hyperadrenocorticism occurs when an animal’s adrenal glands overproduce cortisol, a naturally occurring steroid produced by the body. Trilostane is an orally active synthetic steroid analogue that selectively inhibits 3 β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase in the adrenal cortex.
