Drug Description:

This medication is used to treat high blood pressure in adults. It is used along with other medications to manage heart failure.Store Tablet between 59 to 86 degrees F. Protect from light.How much medicine you take and how often you take it depends on many factors, including the condition being treated, your age, and weight. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of the medicine you are taking, talk with your health care provider. Report to your health care provider if you think that you pregnant. Your health care provider should explain to you the danger this medication poses to the unborn child if the medication is taken after the third month of pregnancy. If you experience swelling of the face, extremities, eyes, lips, or tongue, difficulty swallowing or breathing, stop taking this medication and talk with your health care provider as soon as possible. Contact your health care provider if you notice any yellowing of the skin or eyes. Lightheadedness can occur, especially during the first few days of taking this medication. If this occurs, tell your health care provider. If fainting occurs, stop taking this medication until you talk with your health care provider. Excessive sweating, not drinking enough fluids, diarrhea, or vomiting can lead to an excessive fall in blood pressure. These conditions can cause fainting and lightheadedness. Dizziness or lightheadedness may occur if you stand up too fast from lying or sitting. Get up slowly and avoid sudden posture changes. Use caution while driving or performing other tasks requiring alertness. Patients being treated for high blood pressure may feel tired or rundown for a few weeks after beginning therapy. Continue taking your medicine even though you may not feel quite “”normal””. Before undergoing surgery, tell your health care provider that you are taking this medication or similar medications. Do not use potassium supplements or salt substitutes containing potassium without talking with your health care provider. Report any sign of infection, such as sore throat or fever, to your health care provider. A persistent, dry, nonproductive cough may occur. Tell your health care provider if this occurs. Lab tests may be required to monitor therapy. Be sure to keep appointments. Do not stop taking this medication without checking with your health care provider. Do not take more medication than prescribed unless advised to do so by your health care provider. Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your health care provider. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your health care provider.
