Drug Description:

This medicine is used to treat Parkinson’s disease and parkinsonism-like disorders caused by certain medicines.Store between 59 to 86 degrees F.How much medicine you take and how often you take it depend on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of the medicine you are taking, talk with your health care provider. Do not take alcohol and medicines that cause drowsiness (eg, tranquilizers, antihistamines, some pain medicines). Stomach upset may occur while taking this medicine. Take this medicine with food or after meals. If constipation occurs, use stool softeners if needed. Do not exercise or expose yourself to the sun while taking this medicine because it may cause heavy sweating. This medicine can reduce the ability to sweat, which prevents overheating. Sucking on sugarless hard candy, drinking fluids, or practicing good dental hygiene can relieve dry mouth. This medicine may produce blurred vision or drowsiness. Use caution while driving or performing other tasks requiring alertness, coordination, or physical dexterity. This medicine may also cause dizziness or lightheadedness, especially when sitting or standing. If this occurs, sit or lie down and contact your doctor. Do not stop taking this medicine without checking with your health care provider. Do not take more medicine than prescribed unless advised to do so by your health care provider. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking this medicine. Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medicines without talking with your health care provider. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your health care provider.
