Drug Description:

This medicine is used to temporarily relieve sore gums caused by teething in infants and children 4 months of age and older. Some products may be used to relieve toothache pain.Store at room temperature. Keep away from fire or flame.How much medicine you take and how often you take it depends on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of the medicine you are taking, talk with your health care provider. Wash hands before using this medicine. Apply a small amount of this medicine to the affected gum area with fingertips or cotton swab. Do not use this medicine more than 7 days. This medicine should only be used for toothache until you see your dentist. It should not be used long-term. If sore mouth symptoms do not improve in 7 days, or if irritation, pain, rash, or fever develops, see a dentist or doctor at once. Fever and nasal congestion are not symptoms of teething and may indicate infection. If these symptoms continue, talk with your doctor. Some of these products may contain the dye tartrazine (FD&C Yellow No. 5), which can cause allergic reaction in some people. Talk with your health care provider or pharmacist. Do not stop taking this medicine without checking with your health care provider. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking this medicine. Do not take more medicine than is prescribed unless advised to do so by your doctor or health care provider.
