Bonine Uses

Bonine, often known as meclizine, is an antihistamine and antiemetic drug. It helps prevent and relieve symptoms of nausea, vomiting, and dizziness caused by motion or travel sickness. Also, this drug is prescribed for patients suffering from vertigo caused by inner ear problems.

Meclizine works primarily by inhibiting mixed or conflicting signals in the central nervous system responsible for causing nausea, vomiting, and dizziness. In addition, it also decreases the stimulation of neurons in the inner ear, especially the balance portion.

Bonine Dosage

The dosage and frequency of meclizine vary from person to person. It will depend on current health conditions, age, and tolerance to therapy. This drug is available in a 12.5 mg tablet formulation.

The usual recommended daily dose for patients experiencing vertigo is 25 mg to 100 mg in divided doses. A 25 mg to 50 mg strength is given for motion sickness. These dosages are applicable for children aged 12 years old and above.

Best way to use Bonine

Make sure to read all the drug guidelines and information provided in the leaflet. Follow all the instructions as directed. If there is anything that you do not know or understand, talk to a qualified healthcare professional.
