Drug Description:

This medicine is used to treat infections caused by certain bacteria. It is also used to treat certain sexually transmitted diseases.Store below 86 degrees F. Keep tightly closed. Protect from light and moisture.How much medicine you take/give and how often you take/give it depends on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of the medicine you are taking/giving, talk with your health care provider. Carefully read the information provided with this medicine and reread it each time you get this prescription refilled. Take/give this medicine exactly as directed by your health care provider. This medicine may be taken with or without food. If nausea or stomach upset occur, take it with food. Contact your health care provider at once if severe rash, itching, or hives develop. If severe diarrhea, stomach cramps/pain, or bloody stools occur, contact your doctor at once. This could be a sign of a serious side effect requiring instant medical attention. Do not treat diarrhea without talking with your health care provider. Long-term or repeated use of this medicine may cause a second infection. You may need to stop taking/giving this medicine and start another medication to treat the second infection. Contact your doctor if you suspect a second infection. Continue to use until all of the prescribed medicine has been taken. Failure to take all of the medicine may prevent complete elimination of the bacteria, allowing the infection to return. Lab tests may be required to monitor therapy. Be sure to keep appointments. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking/giving this medicine. Do not stop taking/giving this medicine without checking with your health care provider. Do not take/give more medicine than prescribed unless advised to do so by your doctor or health care provider. Contact your health care provider at once if you feel you have taken/given too much of this medicine. Do not take/give any other over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your health care provider. This includes herbal preparations or dietary supplements. If a dose is missed, take/give it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your doctor. If more than one dose is missed, contact your doctor or pharmacist.Do not take/give this medicine if you and/or your child are allergic to any ingredient in this medicine you and/or your child are currently taking terfenadine or astemizoleBefore using this medicine, tell your health care provider about any of the following: if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding if you and/or your child are taking any prescription medicine, nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplement if you and/or your child have impaired liver function if you and/or your child have myasthenia gravis (severe muscle weakness) if you and/or your child have any other medical conditionThis medicine can cause significant hepatic dysfunction and colitis. Contra Indication:

Do not take/give this medicine if you and/or your child are allergic to any ingredient in this medicine you and/or your child are currently taking terfenadine or astemizole
