Indications

Orphenadrine is prescribed along with rest, physical therapy, and other therapeutic modalities, for the purpose of alleviating pain and discomfort resulting from muscle injuries, strains and sprains. Classified as a skeletal muscle relaxant, orphenadrine modifies the body’s perception of muscle pain to produce its therapeutic effects.

Uses and Dosage

Administer this medication orally, with or without food, in accordance with your physician’s instructions.

Avoid increasing the dosage or frequency of use beyond that which has been prescribed, as doing so will not hasten the recovery process, and may instead heighten the likelihood of adverse effects.

When consuming extended-release tablets, ensure that they are swallowed whole, without crushing or chewing, to avoid sudden release of the medication which may increase the probability of side effects.

Notify your physician if your condition fails to improve, or if it deteriorates.

Side Effects

Older individuals may be more susceptible to the adverse effects of this medication, particularly confusion, drowsiness, constipation, or difficulties in urination. Confusion and drowsiness may raise the risk of falls.

During pregnancy, this medication should be administered only if absolutely necessary. Discuss the potential risks and benefits with your physician.

It is unclear whether this medication passes into breast milk. Consult your physician before nursing your child.
