Description

This medication is a prescription medicine used to treat mild to moderate symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), generally known as prostate gland enlargement. This drug does not shrink the prostate, but it relaxes the muscles in the prostate and bladder.

Rapaflo for Kidney Stones

  • Silodosin is a pharmaceutical that belongs to a class of drugs known as peripheral alpha-blockers, which have been found to enhance the odds of stone transit without surgery. Drinking plenty of fluids and taking this medicine will offer the best chance of passing the stone without the need to undergo costly surgery or lithotripsy.

Rapaflo vs Flomax

  • Both Rapaflo (silodosin) and Flomax (tamsulosin) are alpha-blockers, which means they act on the same receptors in our bodies. However, this does not mean that they can be interchanged.
  • Rapaflo (silodosin) may work better for certain people, while Flomax may work better for others.
  • They also differ in terms of the adverse effects that each individual may encounter.
