Drug Description:

This medicine is used to relieve mental depression, to treat Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), and bulimia nervosa (an eating disorder where the patient binge-eats and then vomits) in adults. It may be prescribed for other illnesses like Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PDD).Store at room temperature in a cool dry place, protect from heat and light. Keep all medicines out of the reach of children and pets.How much medicine you take and how often you take it depends on many factors, including the condition being treated, your age, and weight. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of the medicine you are taking, talk with your health care provider. This medicine may be taken with or without food. This medicine may cause drowsiness, dizziness, or a lack of judgment. Use with caution while driving or performing other tasks requiring alertness, coordination, or physical skill. If hives or rash develop, contact your doctor. Do not use alcohol or other medicines that may cause drowsiness and other side effects. Diabetes- Check blood glucose daily. Do not use with MAOIs inhibitors or within 14 days of discontinuing treatment with an MAOI. After stopping this medication, wait at least 5 weeks before starting an MAOI. This medicine may cause sleeplessness if taken in the evening. Take single doses in the morning. Take this medicine twice a day, once in the morning and again at noon. Improvement may not be seen for several days to a few weeks. Do not stop taking this medicine without checking with your doctor. Do not take more medicine than prescribed unless advised to do so by your doctor or health care provider. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking this medicine. Do not take any over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your doctor. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your doctor.
