Description

Indications

Vaginal estrogen is employed for the treatment of symptoms associated with vaginal dryness, itching, and burning, as well as the alleviation of painful or challenging urination, and urgency in women undergoing or having undergone menopause. Additionally, this medication is utilized to address hot flushes, characterized by sudden intense sensations of heat and perspiration, in menopausal women. Vaginal estrogen belongs to a classification of medications known as hormones, functioning by replenishing the naturally produced estrogen within the body.

Uses and Dosage

Ensure proper hand hygiene by washing and drying your hands before handling the ring. Follow the provided instructions to insert the ring into the vagina at a higher position.

Typically, the ring should remain in place for a duration of three months, after which it should be removed and replaced with a new ring if the treatment is to be continued. Do not exceed the recommended three-month period with the same ring. Adhere to the prescribed dosing schedule diligently, taking into account your medical condition and response to treatment.

When inserted correctly, the ring should not be detectable and should not interfere with sexual intercourse. If you can feel the ring or experience slight discomfort, it may indicate that the ring is not positioned high enough. In such cases, gently push the ring higher using your finger.

In the event that the ring falls out of the vagina, rinse it with lukewarm water and reinsert it. It is advisable to contact your doctor if the ring falls out frequently.

To remove the ring, gently hook your finger through it and pull it out. Should you encounter difficulties in removing the ring, consult your doctor. Dispose of the used ring in a trash bin and refrain from flushing it down the toilet.
