Description

Indications

Minoxidil is employed to encourage hair growth and impede the progression of balding. Its optimal efficacy is observed in individuals under 40 years of age with recent hair loss. Minoxidil belongs to a class of drugs known as vasodilators. It is not known how minoxidil causes hair growth. Baldness cannot be cured by minoxidil; the majority of newly grown hair is typically shed a few months after discontinuing the medication.

Uses and Dosage

Ensure your scalp is clean and dry before applying the medication. You can also use this product on damp hair. For the solution, load the applicator with 1 milliliter of the medication (up to the 1 milliliter mark) or use 20 drops. Part your hair in the thinning area and gently spread the solution evenly over the affected scalp region. Gently massage it in. Let the solution air dry completely before using other styling products, like gels or mousse, or before going to bed.

If using the foam, rinse your hands with cold water and ensure they’re thoroughly dry. Apply roughly half a capful of foam to the scalp, and gently massage it in. Allow the foam to air dry fully before styling your hair or going to bed.

Should scalp irritation arise, you might want to skip applying minoxidil on the same days you’re getting your hair colored or chemically treated, such as with perms.

Only use this medication on your scalp as instructed by your doctor; avoid application on red, painful, irritated, scraped, cut, or infected skin. After use, wash your hands thoroughly. If the medication accidentally gets into your eyes, rinse them generously with cool water.

Do not use this medication more frequently, apply larger amounts than directed, or put it on an irritated or sunburned scalp. Such actions could lead to the medication being absorbed into your body, causing severe side effects. This product may include alcohol and may be irritating and drying to the scalp. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for safe usage instructions.

Remember, hair regrowth takes time. It usually takes about 4 months of regular use to observe results. Continual use of this medication is necessary to maintain hair growth. If your condition does not improve or worsens after 4 to 6 months of using this medication, or if you suspect a serious medical issue, inform your doctor.
