Description
Indications
This medication is prescribed for addressing issues related to male sexual function, specifically erectile dysfunction. Alprostadil belongs to a class of medications known as prostaglandins. Prostaglandins like alprostadil cause increased blood flow to certain areas of the body by causing the blood vessels in the area to widen.
Uses and Dosage
This medication is administered through injection into the penis, as directed by your physician. Prior to each injection, cleanse the injection site with rubbing alcohol. To prevent issues under the skin, it is crucial to vary the injection site with every dose. Select a location on the opposite side of the penis from the previous dose, ensuring a different area each time.
Avoid using a bent needle for injection, and if the needle is bent, replace it with a new one. In the event of a needle breakage during injection, promptly contact your doctor.
Post-injection, apply pressure to the injection site using an alcohol swab for approximately 5 minutes to minimize bruising.
Dosage is determined based on your medical condition and response to the treatment. Typically, this medication should produce an erection within 5 to 20 minutes, lasting for approximately 1 hour. The manufacturer recommends a maximum usage of no more than 3 times a week, with at least 1 day between each dose.
Before use, visually inspect the product for particles or discoloration. Refrain from using the liquid if either is detected.
