Description

Indications

Oxymetazoline nasal spray serves to alleviate nasal discomfort and sinus congestion resulting from colds, allergies, and hay fever. Oxymetazoline belongs to a class of medications known as nasal decongestants, and its mechanism of action involves narrowing the blood vessels in the nasal passages.

Uses and Dosage

Oxymetazoline is available as a liquid solution for nasal spraying. Typically, it is used every 10 to 12 hours as needed, but no more frequently than twice in a 24-hour period.

Use oxymetazoline nasal spray precisely as directed—avoid using more or less than prescribed by your doctor or indicated on the label.

Extended or more frequent use beyond the recommended duration may result in worsening congestion or temporary relief followed by a return of symptoms. Do not use oxymetazoline nasal spray for more than 3 days. If your symptoms persist after 3 days of treatment, discontinue its use and consult your doctor.

Oxymetazoline nasal spray is intended solely for nasal use; do not swallow the medication.

To prevent the potential spread of infection, refrain from sharing your spray dispenser with others.

After use, rinse the dispenser tip with hot water or wipe it clean.

Follow the provided instructions on the package label for using the nasal spray. If the product comes in a pump dispenser, prime the pump by pressing down on the rim several times before the first use. When ready to administer the spray, keep your head upright without tilting and place the bottle tip in your nostril. For the nasal spray, squeeze the bottle quickly and firmly. If the product comes in a pump dispenser, press down on the rim with a firm, even stroke, and inhale deeply.
