Description

Indications

Aluminum chloride is a topical antiperspirant used to address overactive sweat glands, a condition referred to as excessive sweating or hyperhidrosis. Aluminum chloride is applied to the affected areas, such as underarms, palms of the hands, or soles of the feet, on a daily basis until results are observed. Following this initial period, the frequency of application can be reduced to once or twice a week for maintenance.

Uses and Dosage

Use this medication exclusively on the skin. Ensure that the affected area is dry before application. If necessary, you can dry the affected area with a hair dryer set to warm for a few minutes.

Familiarize yourself with all preparation and usage instructions provided in the product package. If any information appears unclear, consult your doctor or pharmacist for clarification.

Avoid getting the medication in your eyes or applying it to broken, irritated, or recently shaved skin. If accidental contact occurs in these areas, flush with plenty of water.

Follow your doctor’s instructions to apply a thin layer of this medication to the affected area, typically once daily at bedtime for 2 to 3 days until sweating is controlled. Afterward, reduce the frequency to once or twice a week for maintenance. Allow the medication to dry after application. If applying to the hands or feet, wrap the area with plastic wrap and cover it with a mitten or sock. For underarm application, wear a shirt, and for scalp application, use a plastic shower cap.

Leave the medication on for 6 to 8 hours. In the morning, wash the area with soap (or shampoo if treating the scalp) and water, then towel dry.

Refrain from using other antiperspirants or deodorants while using this medication.

Inform your doctor if your condition persists or worsens.
