Description
Indications
Vibegron is prescribed for adults dealing with overactive bladder, a condition marked by uncontrollable contractions of the bladder muscles, leading to frequent urination, urgent urges to urinate, and loss of bladder control. It belongs to a group of drugs known as beta-3 adrenergic agonists, which function by easing the tension in the bladder muscles, thus enhancing bladder capacity.
Uses and Dosage
Vibegron is administered orally in tablet form. Typically, it’s taken once daily, with or without food, at roughly the same time each day.
Take vibegron precisely as prescribed; avoid exceeding or reducing the dosage or taking it more frequently than instructed by your doctor.
Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. If swallowing whole is difficult, you can crush the tablet and blend it with one tablespoon (15 mL) of applesauce. Consume the mixture immediately, followed by a glass of water.
The dosage is based on your medical condition and response to treatment.
While vibegron effectively manages overactive bladder symptoms, it doesn’t cure the condition. Continue taking vibegron even if you start feeling better. Never discontinue vibegron without consulting your doctor.
