Description

Indications

Dimenhydrinate is employed to prevent and alleviate nausea, vomiting, and dizziness induced by motion sickness. Belonging to the class of medications called antihistamines, dimenhydrinate functions by averting issues with body balance.

Uses and Dosage

Dimenhydrinate is available as a tablet and chewable tablet for oral administration, with or without food.

To prevent motion sickness, the initial dose should be taken 30 minutes to 1 hour before embarking on travel or engaging in activities causing motion. Typically, adults and children aged 12 and above can take dimenhydrinate every 4 to 6 hours as required to prevent or alleviate motion sickness. Children under 12 years of age may typically take dimenhydrinate every 6 to 8 hours as needed for motion sickness prevention or treatment.

Take dimenhydrinate precisely as directed, avoiding exceeding the recommended dosage or frequency stated on the package label.

Refrain from administering dimenhydrinate to children under 2 years of age unless instructed by your doctor.

The dosage is determined based on your age, medical condition, and response to treatment.

Inform your doctor if your condition fails to improve or deteriorates.
