Description

Indications

This medication is employed to address specific kinds of outer ear infections. It aids in diminishing swelling, itching, redness, and discomfort within the ear. The ear drop combines flumethasone, an anti-inflammatory corticosteroid, and clioquinol, an antibiotic that impedes the growth of certain bacteria and fungi.

Uses and Dosage

This medication is intended solely for use in the ear. For optimal efficacy, the ear canal should be clean and dry prior to using this medication. Consult your doctor for guidance on proper ear cleaning techniques and the use of an ear syringe with a soft rubber bulb, if necessary.

Administer this medication into the ear as directed by your doctor, typically twice daily. Avoid using it more frequently or for a longer duration than prescribed, usually not exceeding 10 days.

To ensure accurate dosing and prevent contact between the dropper and the ear, have another person administer the drops whenever possible. To minimize the risk of dizziness, warm the container in your hand for a few minutes before use.

Before applying ear drops, wash your hands. Avoid contaminating the dropper tip or allowing it to touch the ear or any other surface. Lie on your side or tilt the affected ear upward. Directly position the dropper over the ear and dispense the prescribed number of drops into the ear canal. For adults, assist the drops in rolling into the ear by holding the earlobe up and back; for children, hold the earlobe down and back. Maintain the head tilt for approximately 2 minutes or insert a soft cotton plug into the ear if instructed. Repeat the process for the other ear if directed. Do not rinse the dropper. Always replace the cap after each use.

Use this medication consistently to derive the maximum benefit. To aid in remembering, administer it at the same times daily.

Continue the treatment for the full duration prescribed, even if symptoms subside after a few days. Discontinuing the medication prematurely may allow bacteria and fungi to persist, leading to a recurrence of the infection.

Do not use this medication in the eyes.

Inform your doctor if your condition fails to improve within 1 week or worsens.
