Description

Indications

Beclomethasone nasal spray is prescribed to alleviate symptoms such as sneezing, runny, stuffy, or itchy nose (rhinitis) caused by hay fever, other allergies, or nonallergic rhinitis. It is also utilized to prevent nasal polyps subsequent to nasal polyp removal surgery. This medication belongs to a class of drugs known as corticosteroids, functioning by obstructing the release of specific natural substances responsible for allergy symptoms.

Uses and Dosage

Beclomethasone is administered as a liquid suspension sprayed into the nose. Typically, it is sprayed into each nostril twice a day.

Use beclomethasone precisely as directed. Avoid using more or less of it or using it more frequently than prescribed by your doctor.

An adult should assist children under 12 years old in using beclomethasone nasal spray. Children younger than 6 years old should not use this medication.

Beclomethasone nasal spray is intended solely for nasal use. Refrain from swallowing the nasal spray and take care not to spray it into your mouth or eyes.

Each bottle of beclomethasone nasal spray should be used by only one person to prevent the spread of germs. Do not share beclomethasone nasal spray.

While beclomethasone nasal spray manages the symptoms of hay fever or allergies, it does not cure these conditions. Improvement in symptoms may occur a few days after initial use, but it may take 1 to 2 weeks to experience the full benefits.

Beclomethasone works best when used consistently. Use beclomethasone on a regular schedule unless directed otherwise by your doctor. Contact your doctor if your symptoms worsen or do not improve after using beclomethasone nasal spray for 3 weeks. If beclomethasone nasal spray is used to prevent the recurrence of nasal polyps after surgery, treatment may need to continue for several weeks as directed by your doctor.

Beclomethasone nasal spray is designed to deliver a specific number of sprays. Once the indicated number of sprays has been used, the remaining sprays in the bottle may not contain the correct medication dosage. Keep track of the number of sprays used and discard the bottle after reaching the marked number of sprays, even if liquid remains.
