Description
Indications
Lercanidipine is employed either as a standalone treatment or in conjunction with other medications to manage high blood pressure. It is a calcium channel blocker, the mechanism of action involves blocking the effects of specific natural substances that cause blood vessels to constrict. By doing so, lercanidipine facilitates smoother blood flow, enhancing the efficiency of the heart’s pumping action.
Uses and Dosage
Lercanidipine is available in tablet form for oral administration. Typically, it is taken once or twice a day, either with or without food. To ensure consistent use, take lercanidipine at approximately the same time(s) every day.
Take lercanidipine exactly as directed, avoiding deviations in dosage, frequency, or duration without your doctor’s approval.
While lercanidipine effectively manages high blood pressure, it does not cure the condition. You may experience a decrease in your blood pressure within the initial two weeks of treatment, but it may take 2 to 3 weeks to observe the full benefits of lercanidipine. Continue taking the medication even if you feel well, and refrain from discontinuing it without consulting your doctor.
